Animation 25 Frames A Second... In his final year on his design degree Mallo specialised in audio visual graphic design and animation. He produced numerous short sequences for his showreel to varying degrees of success. All of the material here was created before digital technology became prevalent - drawn by hand, shot on rostrum cameras and edited on high band u-matic systems. The short animatic "Brainless" is available to download here. In Mallo's own words: "I learned the basics of animation at college and also learned that it wasn't really for me. It was too much work for too little reward - hand drawing everything, and shooting on bulky camera and tape systems. Nowadays animation is mostly all digital, and much easier to produce. Below is a small sample of my early animation work."
