BRITNEY DOLL A HIT WITH THE FELLERS Category: news > Published on Maxim Online > March 2000

A Britney Spears doll is taking the UK by storm, selling-out pretty much everywhere as desperate BLOKES fall over themselves to buy them.

Over 60,000, of a range of 11 different dolls, have been imported into the country so far, and hot-blooded fellers are snapping them up at around fifteen quid a pop.

All the dolls feature Britney's infamous figure-hugging skirts, and flawless features (although we can't vouch for the authenticity of the doll's 'breasts' or 'monkey's forehead'), with one doll in particular - the Britney Spears Waitress Doll - changing hands among British collectors for over £100 because of it's lack of availability in the UK.

The dolls, which went on sale in November, are based on Britney's first three hits: Sometimes (skimpy sweater), Baby One More Time (schoolgirl), and Crazy (waitress).

A spokesman for the manufacturers commented: "Because the waitress doll was not officially released in the UK it has become a collector's item. These dolls are changing hands for more than £100 each. Like many collectibles, the main collectors are adults. Male adults are particularly keen."

He also went on to say that 10,000 'emergency' supplies are already on their way, with another 50,000 due to arrive sometime in June. And that there really is no need to panic if you can't find them. You can simply check out your local toy shop next week.

In the meantime someone should get cracking on that life-sized version of the Britney doll - then we'll really show some interest...
