When did you all meet?
Christine: "I first met Jannicke, age 7, on the first day of primary school. Ever since then we have been good friends."
Jannicke: "I met Inger Lise in a youth choir, and I liked her instantly."
Inger Lise: "I met Christine for the first time when I was 13 years old."
How did the band form?
Christine: "We have known each other for a very long time. We understand each other, and it’s easier to tell an idea to someone you really trust. It just made sense. Some boys who practiced in the basement of a church inspired us to take it further. We decided we wanted to be a band too. We didn’t have many instruments, only a guitar and some percussion, but we could all sing and wanted to play live to audiences."
How do you write songs?
Inger Lise: "I have my guitar, a pencil and a piece of paper. When I feel a bit sad or down, my guitar is a great comfort."
Christine: "If I’ve got something on my mind, it sometimes helps to write a song about it."
Jannicke: "I have good and bad song writing periods. Sometimes one word is enough to give me a good idea for a song, and then I need to be by myself to complete it."
Why did you call the album "Sun"?
Jannicke: "The sun is warm and life-giving, and sunshine makes people happy. We wanted to bring some of this through our music."
Christine: "Without the sun, the earth would have been a dark and sad place to live."
Inger Lise: "When I hear “Sun” I imagine a hot summer day in Bergen. Travelling to the beach with my friends and enjoying a long swim. But unfortunately Norway is a cold country with few days like that."
What do you most want to achieve with Ephemera?
Jannicke: "I wish that we one day are able to go on a world tour, and that we can make a full time living out of it."
Inger Lise: "I just want to travel a lot and play our music to many people. Standing on a stage and performing our music is the best thing in life."
Christine: "To make good music that is special to people."
